Every two years, the Regatta Ball brings our villages together for a fantastic evening and helps support Hemingfords Regatta.
This year's Regatta Ball, our main fundraising event for the Regatta, will be held on Friday 5th June.
Tickets will go on sale at the beginning of April.

Two questions come up most often: “How do I get tickets?” and “Why do they cost £70?”
Here’s everything you need to know.

How to Get Tickets
When:
Tickets are released in early April. Click here to order
How:
We contact previous ticket holders and table organisers by email, and we share updates across: Facebook, Instagram, our website, posters around the villages and the Parish Magazine

We aim to reach as many people as possible in Hemingford Grey and Hemingford Abbots. If you're new to the area or haven’t attended before, just keep an eye on our channels in March/April—we’d love you to join us.

Why Tickets Cost £70
We know £70 is a significant amount, especially when food isn’t included. The Ball is not designed to generate large profits—it simply helps keep the Regatta itself alive.
The Regatta’s Running Costs:
Over the last two years, the Regatta has cost more to run than it brings in.
-
2023/24:
Income (excluding the Ball): £8,400
Costs: £11,250
Shortfall: £2,850 -
2024/25:
Income: £12,100 (including generous sponsorship & donations)
Costs: £12,730
Shortfall: £630
Across the two years, that’s a total loss of around £3,500—money needed for boat repairs, safety equipment, insurance, and running the event.
How the Ball Helps:
This year, we aim to sell 360 tickets, bringing in about £25,000.
Once we’ve paid for essentials such as the marquee hire, band, lighting, staging and event infrastructure the Ball is expected to raise around £3,750—almost exactly what we need to cover the two‑year Regatta shortfall.

That means only £10.50 from each £70 ticket goes toward supporting the Regatta; the rest simply covers the cost of putting on the Ball. We’ve also created a visual breakdown to show how those costs stack up:

Our Commitment:
We work hard to keep ticket prices as low as possible while ensuring the Ball is safe, high‑quality, and enjoyable - and while keeping the Regatta a tradition we can pass on for years to come.

Thank you for your support. It genuinely keeps the Regatta afloat!
